Governance in Intelligent Logistics Platforms Through Information and Communications Technology

There are different actors and objectives involved in the logistics within a Logistics Platform. Tenants, Stakeholders and 3PLs have distinct necessities and views, elucidating Governance as an important aspect for the operations in a Logistics Platforms. Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is an important core competence in the operations of Logistics Platforms. So, how can an ICT infrastructure aid in the governance aspects in a Logistics Platform? The objective of this paper is to analyze the importance of ICT systems in the management and operations of Logistics Platforms using a multiple case study in three (3) Logistics Platforms in the State of Santa Catarina, through interviews, analysis of data. Using the Intelligent Logistics Platforms attributes model in each facility, the findings highlighted the importance of ICT systems and other attributes as indicators of governance, resulting in a proposal of a framework of attributes for governance in Logistics Platforms.
